The Obaro Managerial Learnerships kicks off!

Obaro’s Managerial Learnerships started on a high note this year with seven participants from five different provinces, to improve their knowledge and skills. This programme was initiated in 2011 and has been developed annually to promote those involved in agriculture. It is of the utmost importance that the success of this program is clearly visible in the significant part of Obaro’s managerial components that was developed from this programme.

This year’s successful candidates will receive the opportunity to work at Obaro’s trading stores and head office for a year where they will acquire first-hand experience on the daily operations of a retailing agricultural company. The trading stores involved this year are; Brits, Northam, and Groblersdal; some of the participants are also employed at Obaro’s head office. Candidates who successfully complete the program will receive a qualification (NQF5) in general management. This program offers valuable knowledge in the agricultural industry, ensures workplace experience, provides practical application of classroom knowledge and increases confidence in the working environment.

“The Managerial Learnerships Programme meant a lot to me. Not only for personal growth, but also as a prospective manager. The knowledge I acquired from the various aspects of a business is priceless. What this year meant to me is difficult to describe in words. What I can say is that I will never regret it. The Managerial Learnership is an ideal opportunity for anyone interested in management and businesses.” said Franja van Heerden, a former candidate. Franja completed the programme in 2011 and is currently the Business Manager of Obaro Vaalwater.
